Jakob Kruchten was born on January 20th, 1849. He was born in the village of Losheim am See, in Kreis Saarburg, in the Rhine Province of the Kingdom of Prussia. He married Maria Schütz on January 25th, 1881. In 1884, when Jakob was 35, he and Maria emigrated to Wisconsin with their two sons. They settled in the town of Roxbury in Dane County by 1885.

Jakob Albert Kruchten
Sophie Stolte was born on January 10th, 1862. She was born in the village of Schönhof in the Grand-Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Her father died when Sophie was 19. In 1883, at the age of 21, Sophie emigrated alone to Wisconsin. She was married to a fellow Mecklenburger immigrant named Friedrich Duhr in the city of Richland Center in Richland County in 1886.

Sophie Marie Dorothea Stolte
August Maik was born on January 11th, 1856. He was born in the village of Bergthal, in Kreis Wirsitz, in the Province of Posen within the Kingdom of Prussia. When he was 5 his mother died in childbirth. In 1869, at the age of 13, he emigrated to Wisconsin with his father, siblings, and their stepmother. They settled in the town of Princeton in Green Lake County in 1870.
